Troubleshooting
Heating and cooling system acting up? Below is a list of troubleshooting instructions to try before calling us!
A/C Troubleshooting

- Check the electrical panel – reset breakers for both heat and air conditioning units
- Check the emergency switch at the top of the basement stairs – is the switch on?
- Check the thermostat position:
- Is the thermostat set to either cool or heat? If your system is zoned be sure both thermostats are set to the same function both A/C or both heat you can not have one for cool and one for heat
- Is the cool temperature set below the room temperature?
- If there are batteries in the thermostat, are they fresh?
- Check the disconnect at the air conditioner outside – is it in the on position?
- Check the heater switch on the side of the furnace – is it in the on position?
- Are the filters in the furnace clean?
- Be sure furnace door is on securely and turn switch on side of heater off and back on.
Heat Troubleshooting

- Is the heat temperature set above the room temperature?
- If there are batteries in the thermostat, are they fresh?
- Check the heater switch on the side of the furnace – is it in the on position?
- Check the heater door – is the door on securely?
- Be sure furnace door is on securely and turn switch on side of heater off and back on.
If you have a propane system
Is the tank full?
If you have an oil system
1. Check – oil tank fuel level
2. Check – reset button (only hit this button once)
